Subhas Chandra Bose: The Fiery Patriot
Freedom fighter, founder of Azad Hind Fauj (INA).
While many in the freedom struggle followed the path of non-violence, Subhas Chandra Bose believed that independence had to be seized by any means necessary. His famous cry, "Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom!" electrified a generation of young Indians. A charismatic leader and former President of the Indian National Congress, his radical approach put him at odds with the mainstream leadership.
Undeterred, he made a daring escape from house arrest in Calcutta, traveling across continents to seek alliances against the British. In Southeast Asia, he formed the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army), an army of Indian prisoners of war and civilian volunteers. As "Netaji" (Respected Leader), he inspired his soldiers with a vision of a free India, marching towards Delhi with a spirit of unwavering defiance. Though their military campaign ultimately failed, the story of the INA became a legend, a symbol of ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.
